We have an opportunity for an individual to join The Department of Government Services as Compliance Officer on an ongoing basis.

The Department of Government Services was established in 2023 to improve the experience for Victorian's doing business and interacting with the government.

Department of Government Services brings together Digital Victoria, Service Victoria, Local Government Victoria, Consumer Affairs Victoria, the grant program centre and consolidates procurement policy, and whole of Victorian government telecommunications policy as well as the Working With Children Checks and Births, Deaths and Marriages. Oversight of Cenitex and the Public Record Office Victoria also transfers to DGS.

We are Victoria's consumer affairs regulator, operating within the national consumer protection framework. Our vision is a fair and competitive marketplace in Victoria. CAV regulates over 30 different Acts and their associated Regulations.

**About the role**
We have an opportunity for an individual to join us as Compliance Officer on an ongoing basis.

The Compliance Officer role in the Loddon Mallee Region is based at Bendigo and will outreach to other locations across the region including but not limited to Mildura, Swan Hill and Echuca as required.

Reporting to the Regional Manager, the Compliance Officer will conduct a range of compliance monitoring activities and inspections, perform front line dispute resolution, provide business and community education, and lead or coordinate CAV campaign initiatives.

Key Accountabilities include:

- Assisting the Regional/Area Manager in the coordination, planning and development of compliance activities and their implementation
- Managing aspects of ongoing compliance and education programs, whilst identifying opportunities to improve service delivery.
- Conducting a range of compliance activities including investigations, inspections and the preparation of reports and briefs of evidence.
- Conducting and providing specialist information sessions to traders, community groups, consumers, DGS staff and other parties as to one's rights and obligations under legislation administered by CAV

**About you**
To be considered for the role, you must be able to demonstrate:

- Experience in compliance/investigations operations including the planning, development and delivery of outreach activities based on business plans and policies.
- Demonstrated experience in the preparation of reports and the drafting of correspondence that provides clear and purposeful communication.
- Ability to develop and maintain productive relations with internal and external key stakeholders.
- A Certificate IV in Government Investigations or equivalent qualification is desirable or be prepared to attain the qualification soon after job commencement.
