The Customer Service and Compliance Officer will perform a critical function for the Authority and is tasked with promoting voluntary compliance with the Act and Regulations. Where voluntary compliance cannot be achieved, the Customer Service and Compliance Officer will assist in the preparation of evidence briefs, case files and associated material for enforcement action. The Compliance Team ensure that workers and employers understand and abide by their obligations under legislation.

The Portable Long Service Authority is an independent statutory body established to administer the _Long Service Benefits Portability Act 2018_. The Act, together with the _Long Service Benefits Portability Regulations 2020 _provide a Portable Long Service Benefits Scheme.

The Portable Long Service Benefits Scheme began on 1 July 2019 to ensure eligible workers in the community services, contract cleaning and security industries can build up long service benefits based on time in their industry, rather than with a single employer.

**About the role**

The Customer Service and Compliance Officer will perform compliance and customer service activities, may undertake site visits and will contribute the Authority's goal of encouraging voluntary compliance with the Act.

The Customer Service and Compliance Officer reports to the Team Leader - Customer Service and Compliance. The Compliance Team will perform a critical function for the Authority and are tasked with promoting voluntary compliance with the Act and Regulations. Where voluntary compliance cannot be achieved, the Compliance Officer will assist in the preparation of evidence briefs, case files and associated material for enforcement action.

The compliance team ensure that workers and employers understand and abide by their obligations under legislation.

**About you**

As the Customer Service and Compliance Officer, you will possess:

- Experience in conducting a Compliance or Investigation function in a Victorian Regulatory environment
- Demonstrated ability to foster productive working relationships with stakeholders, customers and team members.
- High level of verbal and written communication, interpersonal, negotiation and service excellence skills, with the ability to deal effectively with a range of internal and external stakeholders
- Sound conceptual and analytical skills, strong initiative and a ‘can do' approach to identify compliance issues and develop appropriate solutions to solve business problems and improve efficiency and effectiveness
- Understanding of public service values covering ethical standards and a demonstrated self-awareness, professionalism and a proven commitment to Respect, Equity and Diversity in the workplace and Work Health and Safety principles and practices.
