About the role

The Department of Health (DH) has been working with Victorian public pathology providers to bring the sector into networks of public pathology services, supporting both Public Health and referrals for pathology services from private health practitioners. The aim is to strengthen service provision, improve collaboration and coordination of pathology service provision across the public pathology sector, supporting innovation and research. North East Pathology Network (NEPN) is one of the three networks with participating pathology services from Austin Health, Eastern Health and Northern Health.

NEPN has established an extensive Reform Program with two main streams of Transformation and Service Design projects and the planning, procurement and implementation of a joint, integrated and shared Laboratory Information System (LIS). As the Lead Agency in the North East Pathology Network, Eastern Health is recruiting this role on behalf of NEPN to fulfil the activities required of the NEPN Reform Program

About you

Essential

Proven IT project leadership experience with strong Pathology IT background

Experience and Understanding of impacts of deploying technology into Healthcare facilities

Experience building new technical delivery teams across multiple organisations

Proven ability to manage and monitor technical resources from supporting teams including vendors and external parties

Desirable

In depth understanding of current healthcare eco-system, ideally pathology service provision

Comprehensive knowledge of pathology processes and best practice as applicable to large networks and wide geographical areas

In depth understanding of pathology testing workflows and challenges

Understanding of testing supplier contracts and service negotiations

Application of advanced technology and innovation in shaping the future of pathology service provision

Workforce planning with regard to recommendation for future Technical Support Services
