About the role

The Department of Health (DH) has been working with Victorian public pathology providers to bring the sector into networks of public pathology services. The aim is to strengthen service provision, improve collaboration and coordination of pathology service provision across the public pathology sector, supporting innovation and research. North East Pathology Network (NEPN) is one of the three networks with participating pathology services from Austin Health, Eastern Health and Northern Health. As the Lead agency within this Network, Eastern Health are recruiting this role for the North East Pathology Network (NEPN). NEPN has established an extensive Reform Program with two main streams of Transformation and Service Design Projects and the planning, procurement and implementation of a joint, integrated and shared Laboratory Information System (LIS).

This role is will work with the NEPN Program Management Office (PMO) and various technical resources on the program to prepare for the rollout of a new integrated LIS solution across the NEPN.

Governance for the NEPN LIS Delivery team, is being developed, however until all the roles are filled, the person in this role is expected to work with a number of technical leads responsible for the delivery of the integrated LIS Solution.

The person in this role is also expected to work very closely and build relationships with teams across all 3 NEPN pathology partners, i.e. Eastern Health, Austin Health and Northern Health pathology services.

About you

**To be successful in this role you will possess**:
Essential

Degree in Information Technology or computer science, Business Information Systems or Business Information Technology.

Proven experience in supporting the deployment of technology into Healthcare facilities, such as previous technical or business analysis or pathology technical support experience.

Good technical documentation skills.

Proven experience and ability to perform similar activities as outlined below:
Defining workflows and business processes

Identifying User Access Groups

Understanding of software to the extent of translation of programming rules into simple business terms

Data cleansing and data mapping

HL7 message analysis

Desirable

Understanding of current healthcare eco-system, ideally pathology service provision.

Understand end to end pathology message workflows.

Good working knowledge of healthcare reports.

Ability to work proactively in a team.
