Operations Manager

**About the Role**
We are seeking a passionate and driven Operations Manager to join the Pioneer Water Tanks team at our Bellevue, WA location. As an Operations Manager you will be required to plan, direct and coordinate the operations of the Engineering Project Management, Construction and Administration divisions. You will have overall responsibility for the performance and function of the division, including the hands-on management of employees, customer relations, business development and finances.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Direct and coordinate sales, design, estimating detailing, production and construction activities within the division, paying particular attention to the “buildability” of the project during the design phase, its cost effectiveness and the project delivery schedule.
- Build and maintain an effective Project Management and Site Supervision team and provide direction, guidance, coaching and performance counselling as required.
- Participate in new project handover from Sales and Estimating personnel and project planning with Project Managers.
- Ensure all personnel follow internal policies, procedures and processes and comply with relevant legislation and industry codes, regulations and standards.
- Maintain and improve existing client relations and develop new relationships and opportunities through a pro-active and strategic approach to business development. Insist on regular and open communication with clients during the negotiation, design and construction of a project.
- Staff management and mentoring, including overseeing training and development activities, allocation of duties and workloads, conflict resolution, conducting Employee Reviews and recruiting in accordance with relevant legislation and Company policy.
- Manage financial performance of the divisions, by reviewing financial statements, sales and activity reports and other performance data to measure productivity and goal achievement. Identify areas needing cost reduction and program improvement and recommend or implement procedures to address these.
- In consultation with the General Manager, establish and implement business unit objectives and procedures and provide regular progress reports as required to the General Manager.
- Overall management of Office staff, site crews and sub-contractors, through site visits and regular communication with project managers to ensure safety, quality and environmental procedures are being followed on site at all times, to remain well informed about progress and be able to respond in a timely manner to any issues that may arise.Ensure the safety and well-being of all employees, sub-contractors and members of the public through strict adherence to OHS procedures throughout the division.
**Skills and Experience**
- Proven ability to oversee completion of construction-based projects across multiple sites.
- Strong project management experience in delivering multiple projects successfully.
- Organisational skills and attention to detail for scheduling and planning of projects.
- Proven strong leadership skills.
- Excellent communication and networking skills and the ability to build strong client relationships.
- Competency in Microsoft Project, Word, Excel and Microsoft Office.
- Clear understanding of contracts associated with Projects.
- High Commercial acumen with the ability to send and reply to any commercial related issues or as the projects require.
Tertiary qualifications in a construction-related discipline (Desirable).
