**What you'll be doing**

The primary function of the Older Persons Mental Health Service (OPMHS) Mental Health Professional is to work collaboratively as part of the multi-disciplinary team in order to provide high quality, evidenced based clinical care to Older People presenting with complex mental health issues in collaboration with the consumer &their carer/s, the consumers General Practitioner, Aged Care Services, other medical professionals and Non-Government Organisations (where applicable). The OPMHS consumer cohort requires specific and specialist assessment and interventions associated with the complexity of their clinical presentations including the presence of co-morbidities such as physical health problems, drug and alcohol use / abuse and issues of ageing including Dementia and the Behavioural &Psychological Symptoms of Dementia.

- Current Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (APRHA) registration as a Registered Nurse, Psychologist or Occupational Therapist or eligibility for membership to the AASW.
- Demonstrated skills in conducting comprehensive mental health assessment and management, including assessment, risk management and care coordination.
- Demonstrated capacity to comprehensively assess and manage risk associated with suicide, deliberate self-harm, reputational risk and risk associated with violence, exploitation and abuse.
- Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
- Demonstrated understanding of the Recovery Model of care within Mental Health and the ability to implement and evaluate these care processes within the context of clinical care planning.
- Demonstrated experience working in Community Mental Health services and a demonstrated knowledge of the NSW Mental Health Act (2007).
- Current NSW Drivers Licence.
