**Position Summary**
The Philanthropy Manager - NSW, ACT, QLD is responsible for delivering an annual workplan with targets and agreed KPIs in the areas of annual giving and major gifts specifically in New South Wales, Australian Capital Territory and Queensland.
The Philanthropy Manager initiates the contact between patrons, potential patrons and The Australian Ballet. This position is responsible for managing, maintaining and developing relationships to increase financial support for the Ballet.
This position is based in the Sydney office and has a limited travel component and out of business hours work is part of the role.

**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Soliciting and stewarding NSW and ACT based Patrons and all Queensland supporters, with a priority on face to face interaction
- Developing the annual plan of fundraising activities with the Philanthropy Director and collaborate with the Head of Philanthropy and Philanthropy Manager - VIC, TAS & WA
- Work with the Philanthropy Director to identify, solicit and close major gifts for annual giving and special projects
- Using Moves Management managing the donor pipeline of prospects and guiding donors through the lifecycle: Identification, Cultivation, Solicitation and Stewardship
- Support and manage donor interaction with executives strategically including the Artistic Director, Philanthropy Director, Board Members and Foundation Board where appropriate
- Work with Head of Philanthropy to manage regular reporting; be aware of targets and progress
- Establishing initiatives to increase annual donations and to acquire new donors in consultation with the Philanthropy Director and Head of Philanthropy
- Actively contribute to and attend The Australian Ballet functions such as: opening nights, performance functions and other events/ activities
- Actively complete comprehensive data entry into Tessitura recording donor interactions and updating contact information/ data hygiene
- Identifying Planned Giving prospects for the Planned Giving Manager to engage
- Undertaking other duties as reasonably requested by the Philanthropy Director
**Knowledge, Skills and Abilities**
- Experience and knowledge in managing annual/private giving campaigns, patrons/membership programs, donor identification, research and cultivation, gift solicitation, donor recognition and stewardship and event management.
- Ability to develop and strengthen relationships with current benefactors, patrons and prospective new donors.
- Knowledge in the arts, performing arts organisations and programs, and specifically a working knowledge/experience of The Australian Ballet, its policy initiatives, mission, vision and future priorities.
- Skills and ability to establish effective relationships with peers and senior staff; work collaboratively other organisational functional areas; high levels of confidence to relate to senior corporate and public figures, community leaders, volunteers and the general public.
