**The Team**

The Silent Elector Processing Cell is a newly formed team within the Service Design and Foundations Branch. This section is responsible for the day-to-day management of all enrolment-based activities for silent electors and providing virtual support to relevant business areas within the organisation where required.

**The Opportunities**

The Project Officer is responsible for supporting the Silent Cell Processing team, by providing support, training and technical advice related to Silent Elector policy. In addition, this position supports the Team Leader with the daily operational management of the Silent Elector Processing Cell.

In the lead up to and during an electoral event, the Project Officers scope of work and staffing levels will increase which may also lead to the possibility of intrastate and/or interstate travel.

- Demonstrated ability to successfully monitor and allocate work, set priorities within the work area, whilst maintaining a cohesive and productive workplace.
- Analytical ability to gather relevant data, mitigate risk and generate accurate conclusions, subsequently developing innovative initiatives to improve the efficiency of the business.
- Demonstrated ability to make sound decisions that show good judgement and technical expertise and knowledge within a limited area of expertise in a high-pressure environment.
- Ability to work productively in a high-pressure environment whilst maintaining a positive and calm outlook and a strong focus on embracing diversity, collaboration, and teamwork.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills with stakeholders and electors, tailoring communication to suit the intended audience.

Desirable
- Knowledge of, or ability to, quickly gain knowledge of Australian electoral law and practice.
- Computer literacy with experience using the Microsoft Office Suite and other computer software; any Microsoft Excel proficiency will be highly regarded.

- AEC employees must be Australian citizens.
- Any person who is, and seen to be active in political affairs, and intends to publicly carry on this activity, may compromise the strict neutrality of the AEC and cannot be considered.
- Applicants are required to consent to, undergo, obtain and maintain a character clearance.
- Applicants are required to consent to, undergo, obtain and maintain the security clearance required for this role.
