The successful applicant will demonstrate the following key capabilities:
- Ability to support students using alternative and augmentative communication systems, a functional approach to supporting behaviour, and develop, plan and implement effective reasonable adjustments for students with disability
- Coordinate and provide intensive targeted teaching for students requiring intervention.
- Support and model the implementation of appropriate pedagogies and programs (including direct teaching), developed with other specialist support staff as appropriate.
- Collaboratively provide advice about appropriate and accessible learning environments, resources, equipment to maximise learning in all settings.
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and the capacity to develop and sustain productive relationships within and beyond the school community.
