This role is based in the Hunter Valley
The Contract and procurement specialist is responsible for the efficient and cost-effective operational control of MIPD project delivery teams contract management function in accordance with legal requirements and company objectives.
The Senior Contracts Administrator will support contract owners to consistently deliver best practice contract management and administration across all Project contracts whilst supporting a proactive safety management culture. Providing leadership and guidance to junior team members where required.

**Mining**

**MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Work in accordance with Company values, policies, and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with commercial and procurement processes and policies and provide contractual advice to internal stakeholders.
- Undertake contract progress reviews to assess standards/results, address gaps to lift performance.
- Organise contract documentation for ease of progressing and filing contract documentation.
- Provide commercial advice into procurement strategy, risks allocation and packaging.
- Preparation and issue of the tender pack.
- Prepare and issue tender clarifications and addendums.
- Co-ordinate the technical and commercial evaluation process of tender submissions.
- Provide advice on commercial components of tender submissions, support negotiation of contractual terms.
- Prepare recommendations for award (RFA).
- Prepare contract documents to reflect negotiated outcomes.
- Facilitate execution of contracts by obtaining necessary approvals.
- Prompt contractor to meet contract requirements.
- Identify and develop appropriate responses to commercial risks.
- Provide input on contractual, commercial issues within assigned contracts.
- Correspond with contractors to commercial queries.
- Mitigate opportunities for variations and claims.
- Assess contractor payment claims and confirm with contract representative on progress claimed by contractor.
- Assist Commercial Manager and Project Managers with resolving commercial matters such as claims, disputes.
- Assess validity and value of claims and recommend a response.
- Maintain contract variations register for assigned packages.
- Advise on contractual/commercial issues affecting project delivery.
- Know when to escalate to Commercial Manager to ensure ‘no surprises’.
- Co-ordinate legal review of Contractual matters as required.
- Preparation of purchase requisitions in accordance with Procurement Standard.
**SKILLS & EXPERIENCE**:
- Engineering, Business and/or legal Degree
- High attention to detail and commercial acumen.
- Proficient knowledge of Contract Management Standards
- Australian driver’s license
- Must have Extensive years of experience in mining or construction.
- Must have experience in project contract management.
- Mining experience desirable
- Ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels
- Must be able to communicate and influence a range of stakeholders at different levels throughout the company to
- facilitate processes.
- Excellent verbal and written communication.
- Attention to detail and good time management and time management skills.
- Ability to work in fast paced environment with competing priorities.
