What You'll Be Doing As the Procurement and Contracts Lead, you will lead a team to deliver effective business-wide procurement and contracts management support to enable the delivery of Coal LSL's priorities.You Will Lead, oversee and provide guidance to the team Lead the development, delivery and maintenance of a procurement and contracts management plan and framework across the organisation Prepare an annual forward focussed procurement plan Provide effective leadership and coach relevant stakeholders to ensure business engagement and understanding of procurement and contract management processes Establish and embed practical, fit-for-purpose contracts and procurement practices across the organisation to deliver value for money outcomes Ensure internal controls are appropriate for a public entity as directed by policy, legislation and best-practice Provide commercial and contractual advice and support through the tender/quotation preparation, evaluation, negotiation, contract award and delivery phases Establish and maintain appropriate systems for contract management that enable effective contractual monitoring to support the organisation's contract owners Build an effective business partnership and support model to review and monitor contract performance with contract owners to ensure accountability for actively managing deliverables, risks, issues, and expenditure and providing recommendations for service level improvements Assist the organisation with the implementation of a reporting framework that measures effectiveness of the procurement and contract management functions and identifies control risks for improvement Respond to regulatory reporting requirements, as required, such as compilation of Modern Slavery Statements Ensure principles of risk management and compliance are considered in advice and guidance provided to business stakeholders This is a permanent role based in Newcastle.WHY WORK WITH US? You will be a natural leader with experience managing a skilled and capable team.Your Background Will Demonstrate Your Experience in developing and implementing procurement strategies, contract and supplier management plans, frameworks, and processes Working knowledge of the Commonwealth Procurement Rules and use of Commonwealth procurement panels and platforms Expertise in leading and mentoring stakeholders, to drive best practice procurement and contract management practices Capability to apply practical fit-for-purpose procurement principles and contracts management Strong leadership skills with the capacity to act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including report writing, policy development, and development of training programs Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to build and maintain effective relationships across the organisation Well-developed problem-solving skills, with a focus on attention to detail Proactive approach in identifying, raising and/or managing business improvement initiatives Ability to interpret and apply relevant legislation into business practices Capacity to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion You will have a bachelor's degree in Business, Commerce, Corporate Governance, or equivalent relevant professional experience.Ideally, you will have Professional Association Membership e.g.
