**About the Role**
This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and ambitious early career researcher to join the renowned Structural Biology and Computational Design Laboratory led by Professor Michael Parker. As a member of the team, you will have the unique chance to contribute to groundbreaking research in structural biology and biophysical approaches, with a strong focus on translational efforts through structure-based drug design. With access to cutting-edge technologies like cryo-electron microscopy and a collaborative team culture, this role offers a great development opportunity to make significant contributions to understanding and finding treatments for human diseases.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Undertake research and publish innovative results in structural biology.
- Collaborate to secure external funding and prepare research proposals.
- Supervise students and plan/execute experiments to achieve research project aims.
- Contribute to lab organisation, publications, and compliance with policies and procedures.

**Who We Are Looking For**
You are a highly motivated individual who thrives in a team environment, demonstrating initiative and prioritisation skills to achieve project milestones. Your strong organisational skills and meticulous approach ensure accurate data recording and analysis.

You will also have:

- A PhD (or awarding of a PhD within six months of appointment commencement) in protein biochemistry or equivalent qualifications and experience in a related area, with a major in structural biology or related discipline
- Evidence of experience in cryo-electron microscopy; including sample preparation, data collection and data analysis
- Evidence of experience in molecular biology techniques, recombinant expression of proteins, protein purification using a variety of methods and performing and developing biochemical assays
