**About the Role**

The Tati Tati Cultural Mapping Research project aims to document and enhance understanding of the relationship between water and Indigenous wellbeing to empower Traditional Owners and influence policy change. The Research Fellow will collaborate with Chief Investigators, Traditional Owners, and the Centre of Excellence Places Program to co-design and implement culturally appropriate research methods. They will focus on embedding Indigenous values in the research design, developing visualization approaches, engaging participants, and ensuring Indigenous data governance following CARE and FAIR principles, working part-time (0.2 FTE) to advance the project's objectives.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Work with the Senior Research Fellow and the Enterprise Principal Fellow in Cultural Economies and Sustainability on research development, design and implementation, data collection, analysis and presentation of findings and outcomes. This will involve embedding Indigenous knowledge and priorities in all of the aforementioned aspects of the research
- Undertaking community engagement, including yarning with relevant stakeholder/community members on the goals, processes, and outcomes of the research, and working with community members to ensure that the research design is appropriate and relevant
- Working with the Senior Research Fellow and team to manage the projects. This may include project planning, costing and execution, setting milestones, undertaking fieldwork, and project evaluation, as well as monitoring and reporting on the progress of the projects, recognising barriers and risks, and presenting effective solutions where necessary

**Who We Are Looking For**

You will have a demonstrated interest in or experience with participatory research, including fieldwork and participant interviews, and the ability to conduct self-directed research on themes related to Indigenous wellbeing and environmental change. Excellent communication, community consultation, and interpersonal skills, along with strong organisational and administrative abilities, are essential. You should also be committed to Indigenous empowerment, diversity, and inclusivity, and be able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

You will also have:

- A postgraduate degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
- Demonstrated experience working with Indigenous communities in accordance with Indigenous data governance principles and culturally-sensitive community engagement.
- Demonstrated experience working in culturally-sensitive, complex co-design scenarios with a focus on built environments and/or natural resource management.
