Our client is a Global Multi-National with Substantial Local Market Presence in the "Specialty Chemical Distribution Sector". This industry works with leading manufacturers and producers of both natural and synthetic functional/raw materials which essentially provide the catalysts for finished products for broader consumption across every industry sector.
As a result of strong organic growth and internal business move (promotion) the business is now keen to secure either new or existing industry talent to fill the key role of
**PRODUCT MANAGER** within their Food & Nutrition Division.
Critically, what we are looking for are "Proven"
**OR** "Emerging"
**technical sales specialists** who are passionate about building relationships and helping customers to solve their problems. To be considered for this role, it is expected you will have a strong generalist knowledge of all Food & Nutrition Market segments, for example: Beverages (Still, Carbonated, Juices, Alcoholic etc.), Baked Goods (Bread, Pastries, Cakes, Biscuits etc.), Sauces, Dips & Condiments, Dairy (Milk, Yoghurt, Infant Nutrition, Cheese etc.), Snack Foods & Confectionery and Flavours to name a few.
Our focus will be your ability to demonstrate the right "Behaviours, Attributes & Attitudes" to be successful in a key sales role. This means you will naturally possess well developed interpersonal, communication and presentation skills, coupled with the ability to read and adapt to a diverse range of personalities which form the existing and new client base. It is your ability to be liked and demonstrate your value to clients (both potential and existing) which will determine your level of success.
Other key "Behaviours" sought is your ability to act as a team player and support Account Managers with client opportunities as a key technical resource and to help clients build their knowledge & understanding of the product range and their capability to assist with product development and/or re-formulation.
Aside from these key behaviours, other selection criteria includes and is not limited to the following:
- Formal Qualifications in Food Science, Materials Sciences and/or more broadly - Chemistry
- **Proven Commercial Experience in B2B Sales** - ideally within the sectors identified **OR** related industry expertise of at least 5 years, with the capacity to demonstrate strong selling and business development skills
- Have successfully managed and exceeded budgeted expectations with an assigned portfolio in excess of $10M turnover OR Gross Margin Contribution in excess of $1M. We expect you to be able to clearly articulate your actual vs budget results for the past 3 years and the incentive payments earned
- Have an amiable disposition that enables you to build effective working relationships at all levels with internal / external stakeholders
- Can demonstrate the ability to effectively manage difficult client situations (i.e. problem solve) and Maintain customer satisfaction
- Have the ability to work with clients and forecast demand to support operational and supply chain management initiatives
- Have a "Can-Do - Results Oriented" mindset to just get in and get the job done
- Are passionate about selling quality products which make a difference and with a strong business that will support/help you to succeed
**$206,183** = Total Package).
**In addition to this**: you will be provided with a Fuel Card, E-Tag, Mobile Phone, Laptop and you are entitled to an extra days leave every year.
Should you exceed budgeted sales targets, it is common for strong performers to be earning well in excess of $35,000 year in incentive payments with super paid on these amounts. The business also provides flexible WFH arrangements with only one day a week a requirement to attend the office or as required to support your customers and set-up key supplier meetings etc. and additional leave days.
