As the Production Manager, you will be responsible for around 15 production staff, ensuring efficient and quality production of products. Our client is an Australian owned manufacturing company. Based in the south-east of Melbourne, they manufacture commercial ventilation products.

This is a permanent, full-time opportunity working Monday=Friday 7:30am-4pm, with a 2pm finish on Friday.

**What You'll Do**:
As the Production Manager, you will be responsible for around 15 production staff, ensuring efficient and quality production of products. The Production Manager will not be afraid to get hands-on when required, stepping in and directing/delegating tasks to ensure stock on hand is kept at optimal levels and production materials are not running low.

In addition, the Production Manager will:

- Manage day-to-day warehouse/production operations, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to quality standards.
- Be willing and able to get hands on - you will lead by example by learning the manufacturing processes and jumping in when required
- Implement and improve warehouse processes to optimize productivity and minimise errors.
- Engage, lead, motivate and develop your team through effective people management strategies ensuring capability of people to achieve individual, team and overall site objectives
- Involve the team by encouragement and motivating to deliver safety excellence and promote risk awareness
- Drive performance on a daily basis across the further processing facility ensuring delivery on time sensitive production deadlines
- Assist in the development of reporting for key operational indicators including labour optimisation, overtime, throughput rates and inventory control
- Identify, drive and embed continuous improvement initiatives and operational efficiency programmes
- Monitor and keep within budget, seeking approval for out of scope spend
- Working cross functionally, building strong relationships with different stakeholders and working as one team

**What We're Looking For**:

- 4+ years' experience working in a Production Manager role/level with experience in managing a manufacturing facility with a proven track record of achieving positive operational outcomes
- Previous hands-on experience in manufacturing, ideally within the sheet-metal industry or sheet-metal products
- Strong understanding of an end-to-end manufacturing process
- Passionate about driving continuous improvement initiatives, to improve safety, efficiencies and reliability
- Inclusive in management style, with the capabilities to engage a large team and create a collaborative working environment
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills with the ability to communicate cross functionally to build strong relationships and influence key stakeholders
- Excellent analytical skills with the strong capabilities of working with multiple pieces of data and transforming them into meaningful relevant information for employees to understand
- Proven track record of achieving departmental business plans and productivity agendas
- Degree qualified in relevant discipline desirable but not essential
