Payroll Specialist

We have an exciting opportunity for a highly experienced payroll professional looking to expand their career within a well known and loved global brand - this position is a critical role as you will be the only person for payroll on site for the business.
Your duties will be but not limited to:
***Payroll processing**:
- Process monthly payrolls of three legal entities for ~300 employees in Australia and New Zealand via a hybrid in-house/outsourced managed service arrangement, ensuring all employees are paid accurately and in a timely manner
- Calculate payroll adjustments in accordance with instructions from HR, ensuring consistency between employees
- Manage and track all payments during maternity leave periods, ensuring both paid and unpaid hours are properly recorded and leave accruals are aligned with the relevant state legislation
- Monitor and administer government paid parental leave
- Verify and reconcile Single Touch Payroll data prior to approving transmission to the ATO
- Reconcile and remit superannuation monthly and in a timely manner
- Carry out annual processes impacting payroll including mandatory leave periods, merit increases, incentive payments, and reportable fringe benefits
- Act as a backup for regional payroll hub team members when required
**Payroll/Finance administration**:
- Stay up to date with relevant legislation in Australia and New Zealand
- Key payroll contact for the annual statutory audit
- Support any other payroll related audits as required
- Prepare monthly accounting journal entries for posting into financial system, including leave accruals and variance analysis
- Calculate annual bonus accruals
- Support preparation of annual returns for payroll tax and workcover
- Data extraction and calculations to support the annual gender equality reporting submissions
- Create and maintain documentation on payroll processes
- Validate consistency of data across multiple systems
- Other administrative tasks to support the team including (but not limited to) processing of incoming cheques
- Perform ad hoc assignments as directed by the Senior Manager
- Accounting and Reporting
Salary range from $100,000 - $120,000 + Super - this would initially be a 6 month contract with potential permanency - we are needing someone open to working on site 4 days a week - car park is also available to assist with this.
