**About the Role**:
The Learning Environments is the primary area of expertise for the proper governance of, and maintenance of standards in vocational and higher education programs. The Learning Environments collaborates with staff in departments and directorates to assure the continuous improvement of learning and teaching at Melbourne Polytechnic.

This position contributes to the support and service of high-quality online learning systems to optimise
performance and use of the technology for learning and teaching. Supports continuous improvement and efficiency by leveraging learning systems capabilities, and work with department, staff, and learners, to ensure optimal user experiences with educational technology systems and sites

**Duties**:

- Contribute to the design, development and implementation of professional development for institute staff in the use of educational technologies
- Develop various academic technologies as needed (e.g. surveys, course evaluations, e-portfolios, virtual classrooms, document repositories)
- Trial emerging technologies and the use of mobile devices in online learning, teaching and assessment
- Contribute to the piloting of new approaches to online teaching, learning and assessment
- Support and maintain the technical administration and the configuration of higher education courses (course templates, migrating content and courses, archiving and back-up) of the Learning Management System (LMS) environment provided by Moodle and associated technologies
- Provide front line support to staff and students

**Skills and Experience Required**:

- An equivalent combination of training and experience or an appropriate tertiary degree or professional qualification in education or information technology
- Proven experience in managing and upholding the technical administration of platforms like Moodle and other large-scale learning systems within vocational and higher education programs, while promoting continual enhancements in the learning and teaching frameworks at an institutional level.
- Demonstrated ability in leading the design, development, and implementation of a range of educational technologies including, but not limited to, surveys, virtual classrooms, e Portfolios, digital assessment and educational apps.
- Proven ability to provide efficient front-line support to both staff and students, showcasing strong customer service skills and the ability to resolve issues promptly.
