**About the Role**:
The VCE VM role is a fixed term position linked to a targeted project that sees Melbourne Polytechnic partnering and collaborating with The Gordon TAFE. This role will be located at Melbourne Polytechnic, with some travel to The Gordon TAFE required at times.

The purpose of this role is to develop teacher capability to lead and implement excellence in curriculum, teaching and assessment for senior secondary students in the VCE Vocational Major (VM) programs at Melbourne Polytechnic and The Gordon TAFE. The position provides expert guidance and support in implementing best and reflective practice to drive an organisational learning culture and deliver improved outcomes for VCE VM students. The position creates trusted and valuable relationships and networks, and facilitates between VCE VM teachers at Melbourne Polytechnic and The Gordon TAFE.

**Duties**:

- Collaborate with key MP and The Gordon staff to co-lead the project.
- Partner with MP and the Gordon VCE VM teachers to build capability in learning, teaching and assessment for senior secondary students completing VCE VM with a particular focus on blueprinting the curriculum, implementing Learner Capability Frameworks, establishing a repository of resources for teachers and building teacher capability.
- Collaboratively design and deliver professional learning that builds the sustainable capabilities of VCE VM educators, as aligned to the project.
- Mentor and coach VCE VM educators.
- Identify, promote and develop professional development approaches to implement evidence-based pedagogies and impactful teaching and learning strategies for senior secondary learners.
- Design and deliver professional learning programs to enhance teaching practice across the VCE VM teaching cohorts.

**Skills and Experience Required**:

- A degree in secondary education, together with at least 5 years' teaching experience.
- Experience in leading and managing internal and external educational projects of various sizes.
- A current Working with Children Check (employee).
- Experience in the implementation of senior secondary curriculum and pedagogical practices for young adult learners, with a focus on applied learning.
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively, with well-developed organisational, communication and interpersonal skills, including high level management, analytical and problem solving skills.
- A demonstrated understanding of contemporary teaching practices and how to support their delivery in learning problems, utilising learning technologies and best practice to create engaging, measurable and high quality learning experiences.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the design and delivery of professional learning programs to build teacher capability and promote professional teaching practices.
- Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines within a complex, high pressure and changing environment.
