Join this expanding organisation as Payroll Support Officer in Melbourne CBD. Permanent role, career growth, hybrid work. Start your Payroll career
**The Company**
This is an exciting opportunity to join an organisation who are expanding rapidly. Hybrid working is in place so you can work 2 days from home with 3 in the offices which are in Melbourne's CBD. Due to a series of recent business acquisitions, the organisation requires an additional staff member within the payroll function to provide direct support to the Payroll Manager. Full training will be provided. The company are extremely supportive of new hires and offer a range of benefits. They have fantastic new offices which are easy to reach and can offer ongoing growth and professional development.
**The Role**
This is a long-term permanent position which offers stability and career development. In time, we expect this role to develop into a full function payroll opportunity so it's ideal for someone with a great attitude and a base level of payroll experience.
Typical day to day duties will involve:
- Checking and processing of timesheets
- Assessing and responding to a range of payroll related queries
- These queries could relate to timesheets, leave, superannuation and commissions
- Analysis of rostering detail
- Supporting Payroll Manager with projects to improve processes and procedures
- Ad hoc payroll related work as delegated by the Payroll Manager
- Supporting with end-to-end payroll processing
- Interpreting awards and EBA's
- Processing manual payroll adjustments
- Onboarding new starters and processing terminations
- Processing superannuation payments
This will be a busy, fast paced and challenging role. The business are growing and as a result, systems, processes and priorities are ever changing. We are looking for applicants that are keen to grow their payroll exposure within a challenging yet supportive environment.
This role will suit someone with circa 1 years existing payroll experience in a mid-large company that wants to expand their skillset and grow into a position as an end-to-end Payroll Officer. Full training is on offer for someone with a great attitude and willingness to learn.
If you see your future in Payroll but need to fill in the gaps in your experience, this role is for you.
**Your Profile**
You do not need extensive payroll experience for this role as attitude and communication skills are more important. However, a base level of payroll experience would be preferred, even if it comes within an HR, accounts or administration-based environment.
The following attributes will also be highly advantageous:
- Comfortable working in Melbourne CBD
- 1 year prior Payroll Administration exposure
- Understanding of timesheet processing and basic payroll legislation
- Highly ambitious, hungry and eager to progress
