**Position Information**:
The NSW Department of Education provides, funds and regulates education services for NSW students from early childhood to secondary school, delivering world-class education through its public schools and providing funding support to non-government schools. We employ, develop and support teachers, leaders and other staff to deliver the best outcomes for students and to advance the wellbeing of Aboriginal people.
**About the Role**
A School Administrative Officer provides administrative, financial and student welfare/wellbeing support and assistance in relation to office and classroom activities, including but not limited to the following school settings: the office, sick bay, library, science laboratory, and food technology/kitchen areas.
**Essential Requirements**- Working with Children Check Clearance- First Aid Certificate or willingness to undertake First Aid training.- Administration of Medications - training to be provided based on student needs.
**Selection Criteria**:
- Demonstrated capacity to work effectively as part of a team.
- Administration skills including a knowledge of computer software programs such as Microsoft Office.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to work with teachers and students.
- Ability to perform tasks in one or more of the following areas: office procedures; accounting procedures; sick bay; hospitality and /or design and technology; science.

- Lake Munmorah High School is a modern comprehensive high school established in 2000. The school population is comprised of approximately 731 students, 99 of whom identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander and 19 students who are from a non-English speaking background. The school works collaboratively with partner primary schools, across a range of activities and initiatives, as part of the Lakes Learning Community._
- School planning supports a range of initiatives including a Targeted Sports Program, STEM classes and a dedicated STEM learning area, as well as a strategic initiative to support student growth in the area of creative and performing arts with the 'SHINE' program. The school has a modern Resource Centre that is supporting higher HSC attainment with additional one on one study support. The school provides strong support to address student wellbeing through targeted programs and the 'Wellbeing Hub'._
- The school is committed to continually improving effective classroom practices with staff professional learning being the key to ensuring this. This learning will ensure that both literacy and numeracy levels can be enhanced through improved data analysis and use to support individualised and differentiated learning._
- Lake Munmorah High School also has a support unit for students with identified autism spectrum disorders, emotional disturbances and intellectual disabilities. The school has a strong relationship with the local Aboriginal community and is a proud and active member of the Muru Bulbi AECG._
