**ROLE PURPOSE**:
The Collections Officer role is responsible for maintaining Aged Debt on customers ledger within agreed targets, reconciling accounts and resolving disputes in order to decrease the aged debt on the ledger. Partner with our internal and external stakeholders and drive Cash Collections performance.

**KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES**:

- Take ownership of a complex ledger and manage the reduction in aged debt through collection activities
- Support Accounts Receivable Manager with weekly operational reports
- Lead ledger review sessions with Accounts Receivable Manager and Sales Account Managers as required
- Support to coach, train and develop new Collections Officers in the team
- Reduce the aged debt in line with the agreed targets
- Work with internal teams (such as Banking team) to manage account reconciliations as required
- Escalate and liaise with internal departments in relation to disputes on customer accounts
- Build relationships internally and externally to keep customer satisfaction high whilst maintaining a low balance on the aged debt
- Review and escalate customer disputes
- Handle inbound/outbound calls regarding issues on a customer's account

**WHAT WE LOOK FOR**:

- Experience in a Credit Control or AR Collections Officer role
- Proven experience working on reduction of aged debt
- High attention to details and ability to deliver quality work
- Ability to communicate both written and verbally in a professional and effective manner
- Customer focussed
- SAP and CRM (Siebel, Sales Force) experience is a plus
- Intermediate to advanced Excel
- Strong organisational ability
- Ability to work autonomously and drive results
- Ability to provide and interpret information in an accurate manner and drive actions
