Our dynamic team is divided into two key areas: Strategic Relations and Communications. In this role, you'll be part of the Strategic Relations team, reporting directly to the Manager. **About the **role**:
The Strategic Relations Officer plays a supportive role within the District's strategic relations team, gaining valuable experience in stakeholder engagement, research, and administrative tasks. You'll contribute to the team's efforts to build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, fostering advocacy for public health priorities.

**Some of your key responsibilities are;**
- **Develop strategic relations materials**: Draft and coordinate timely responses to government information requests, including briefings, ministerials, submissions and general advice.
- **Stakeholder engagement**:Develop and maintain strong internal and external relationships to exchange information with key stakeholders to inform written materials and recommendations.
- **Clarity and conciseness**:Exhibit excellent attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and thoughtfulness in all tasks and communication. Write with clarity, producing clear, concise and effective documentation and correspondence, which is consistent with standard and agreed government style guide
- **Administrative support**:Maintain high-quality processes, record-keeping and databases, monitor incoming requests, and support with responding to enquiries from internal and external stakeholders including the NSW Ministry of Health, HCCC and local Members of Parliament.
- **Strategic issues support**: Collaborate with senior staff members to monitor key issues and trends in complaints and political developments and assist in the sourcing and providing of relevant advice to inform strategic responses to potential issues and challenges.
- **Contribute to a positive team culture**: Proactively contribute to the collaborative approach of the team, demonstrating positive behaviours and innovative thinking.

- Excellent writing and communication skills: Draft clear and concise internal communication materials with attention to detail.

- Ability to learn independently and follow instructions: Take initiative while adhering to guidance and completing tasks accurately.
- Strong interpersonal skills: Build rapport and collaborate effectively with team members.
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn: Eager to contribute to the team's success and gain experience in strategic relations.

**Requirements of the role**:

- Tertiary qualifications in communications, marketing, public relations or another relevant discipline and/or relevant experience.
- Willingness to participate in after-hours media roster, as well as a business hours community feedback line roster.
- Eligible to drive in NSW and willingness to travel for work purposes.
