**What is a recruitment pool?**
Gaining a place in the recruitment pool means you will be at the front of the queue to be considered for any ongoing and temporary employment opportunities at the Department of Education over the next 18 months.
**About the team**
These roles sit within the Quality Assurance and Regulatory Services (QARS) Directorate. Our Directorate regulates and supports over 6,000 services in NSW through monitoring, assessment and rating, enforcement and compliance and approval processes, and a wide range of sector development, support and engagement activities.
**About the role**
As a Field Officer, you will be visiting early childhood education and care services within the region to perform regulatory duties including:
- Conducting compliance, monitoring, and quality assessments as well as rating audits
- Providing recommendations to support compliance to policy and procedures from service providers
- Supporting investigations of complaints and incidents
**Skills and experience**
- A seasoned expert in compliance or regulatory affairs, with a comprehensive grasp of risk management within a regulatory setting
- Knowledge of the National Quality Framework and regulations in an early childhood care environment
- Demonstrates adaptability to evolving processes and legislation
- Ability to engage with and influence stakeholders
- Excellent time management skills and ability to exercise professional judgement to make risk-based decisions and manage competing priorities
- Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department’s Aboriginal Education Policy and ECE First Steps Strategy and upholding the Department’s Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people and support Aboriginal children and families in NSW.
**Essential requirements of the role**
- A valid Working with Children Check clearance for paid employment
- A driver’s license and ability to undertake short term travel
- Relevant experience and/or degree or diploma or in the process of attaining a diploma in a relevant discipline
- Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education
