**Job description**:
Our client, a local government department is seeking an experienced Change Management and Communications specialist to join their team on a temporary basis for 6 months.

This newly created role requires the engagement of a highly experienced, strategic change and communication professional. This role will support the development, alignment and implementation of a contemporary, best practice, change and communication framework.

Responsibilities of the role:

- Develop, implement and embed a change and communication framework and supporting toolkit, incorporating technical, business readiness and people change components with the ability to appropriately scale for the size and impact of the change.
- Plan, develop, deliver, and evaluate communication and engagement plans to support divisional and portfolio change initiatives that create awareness and alignment, build knowledge, embed and positively reinforce changes brought about by programs and projects.
- Lead the co-ordination of support to establish and ensure the operation of appropriate change and communication governance groups to support the oversight and decision making of change initiatives within the team.
- Lead the provision of support and guidance to both individual and bodies in governing roles across the portfolio to ensure best practice and high change leadership capability.
- Undertake initial scoping and sizing, assign work, close and evaluate portfolio change activities

To be successful in this role you will have:

- Knowledge and skills in stakeholder management, strategic communications, change management planning, governance, strategy, engagement, business impact analysis and business readiness
- Demonstrated track record of managing and leading end-to-end change management and strategic communication in large, complex organisations.
- Excellent communication skills and strong stakeholder management skills including the ability to negotiate and influence stakeholders across levels and build strong working relationships.
- Ability to manage change and ambiguity and to learn quickly.
- Ability to juggle multiple projects and activities in a fast-paced environment, as well as work as part of a maturing team.
- Experience in establishing change and communication governance.
