Business Support Officer

**The role**: Reporting to the Branch Manager, you will be working in a dynamic and complex environment supporting a high volume of both proactive and reactive requests in a timely, thorough and accurate manner.
**Key responsibilites include**:

- Coordinate and support standard business and administrative procedures ensuring systems are effectively communicated and applied across the branch.
- Ensure that significant issues or events, often of a confidential and sensitive political nature, are managed effectively, determining the extent to which matters should be escalated and collaborating with the most appropriate groups and resources internal and external to achieve required outcomes.
- Proactively coordinate the budget, human resource, procurement and asset management functions for business units within the Branch.
- Collate, integrate, analyse and interpret branch performance reports with respect to finance and human resources and procurement highlighting trends and exceptions.
- Co-ordinate and support the development of business and operational plans across the branch.
- Prepare reports for line managers within the branch regarding the operational performance data for their business unit

You will aquire knowledge or the ability to acquire knowledge of business support and business performance measurement and reporting procedures in a large complex public sector service delivery organisation.
You will have the ability analyse business performance data, identify trends and exceptions, and identify options to achieve required performance levels.
You will have the ability to manage staff in line with contemporary human resource management policies, procedures and practices including employment equity, anti-discrimination, occupational health and safety and ethical behavior.
