The Communications Coordinator supports the External Affairs and Media team to promote the University's strategic direction, goals and objectives through engaging media and social media activities.

This role will work collaboratively with the team leads to source and execute earned publicity opportunities for the university and its academics through its owned channels and external connections.

This is an ideal role for early career media and public relations professionals looking to develop their portfolio and gain skills working in a large organisation.

To be successful in this position, you’ll have:
An understanding of external relations and media and how it contributes to strategic organisational objectives.-
- Excellent communication skills.-
- A passion for creating engaging and impactful media and social media content for external audiences.-
- An understanding of the Australian media landscape and what makes a good news story.-
- Some experience working with new media and digital technology, such as video recording and editing.-
- Ability to participate in a workplace culture of high performance and accountability for outcomes.About the Portfolio- The International and Engagement portfolio is responsible for RMIT’s international strategy and agenda, including international development and partnerships and oversight of our international operations including RMIT Vietnam and RMIT Europe. It also incorporates the University’s key engagement functions including communications, experience (global marketing, global student recruitment, alumni), and business development and partnerships.
