**Position overview**
The Manager - Media and Public Affairs will work in support of the Director - Media and Public Affairs who works as part of a team assisting the Chief Justice of the FCFCOA and the Chief Executive Officer and Principal Registrar (CEO/PR) of the FCFCOA.
Together the Courts comprise 122 judges; hundreds of legal, social science and related support staff; registries and circuits across 43 locations; and are responsibility for around 117,000 filings per year. The Manager - Media and Public Affairs will also work closely with the Courts’ National Operations Team.
The position will have a hands-on and proactive focus delivering a range of projects and supporting court-wide initiatives.
This position works across areas of digital communications, public affairs, issues management, media liaison, stakeholder engagement, and will assist with planning and promoting events and functions for the Courts.

Some travel may be required.
**Key responsibilities and duties**
The Manager - Media and Public Affairs will provide assistance and support to the Director - Media and Public Affairs in the development and implementation of key strategic projects for the FCFCOA and to build capability in the area of media and public affairs for the two Courts.
The role will work closely with the Chambers of the Chief Justice and the Office of the CEO/PR and will also work more broadly with the Courts’ National Operations Team.
Other key duties of the role include:

- Develop digital content and work across communication channels to provide creative, innovative solutions to communicate complex and sensitive legal topics to a broad audience.
- Develop visual and multimedia communications methods to support written content.
- Research and write media releases and manage media monitoring and contact databases.
- Aligning with strategic aims and operational frameworks, develop and manage projects from concept to implementation, by planning and coordinating the activities of project members to effectively address issues and meet timelines.
- Develop and maintain professional working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
