**About Translation Cancer Immunotherapy Laboratory**:
The Translational Cancer Immunotherapy Laboratory studies the interaction between the immune response and tumour control, with a particular emphasis on translating our ever-expanding basic science knowledge into clinically applicable therapeutic platforms.

Our lab has a long-standing interest in bone marrow transplantation (BMT), which is the most established form of cancer immunotherapy, but it is associated with life-threatening complications, primarily graft-versus-host disease (GVHD) and infections. A new and increasing focus of our lab is the related field of cellular immunotherapy, especially Chimeric Antigen Receptor (CAR) T cell therapy, which are gene-modified immune cells that have shown to be very effective in eradicating certain cancers. Our lab is one of only a few groups in Australia capable of conducting investigator-driven clinical trials using gene-modified immune cells generated in-house.

**Role Purpose / Responsibilities**:
Applications are invited for the position of Research Assistant.

Applicants with relevant knowledge and skills applicable to clinical trial sample handling and processing, and general wet lab immunology techniques.
- Collection, data logging and processing of clinical trial samples according to Standard Operating Procedures
- Management of sample inventories, including receipt and storage of samples in liquid nitrogen
- Laboratory management including ordering and equipment maintenance to optimize project outcomes

Liaising with hospital trials staff, collection and processing of clinical trial samples, reconciliation of sample records, lab management including ordering and stocktaking, some basic analytic processes including multiplex cytokine analysis, liaising with core facility services and processes.

**About you**:
You are required to be organized and self sufficient. Training can be provided where skills required are new, although experience in clinical trial sample processing and laboratory management will be highly preferred.

**Remuneration**: Salary range is $74,397 to $95,329 p.a.depending on experience and qualifications plus super and salary packaging. This is a full-time appointment for 12 months.
