The **Executive Manager - Science Engagement** provides strategic leadership, management and vision for the Science Engagement group within the **Scientific Computing **program.

The Executive Manager is responsible for establishing and fostering strategic relationships between Information Management and Technology (IMT) and Impact Science business units, and National Facilities and Collections. They play a role in helping shape and influence the organisation’s Digital and Data strategies, and to represent BU strategic priorities into IMT programs, directions, and forward plans. They lead the team in supporting BU technology strategy development, solution discovery, and technology risk management. The team supports organisational data management practices and contributes to a range of activities to effectively support the management of research data throughout its lifecycle. As leader of this function, you’ll play a key role in shaping CSIRO’s use of data and digital approaches as a strategic asset.

The group consists of two teams:

- Research Data Services
- Digital Solutions Advisory

The Executive Manager - Science Engagement is a member of several leadership teams within IMT, and CSIRO’s Science Digital Transformation initiative. This role will collaborate with peers and senior executives in the delivery of ‘business-as-usual’ IMT services, CSIRO’s strategic direction and realisation of transformational change for the organisation.

**Your duties will include**:
**1) Strategic alignment of services**
- Lead the delivery of** **the** **Information Management and Technology (IMT)** **Science Engagement program of work and contribute to all **Scientific Computing **delivered services
- Partner with other key stakeholders within CSIRO to support and digitalise functions that support delivery of CSIRO science, research and engineering.

**2) Capability Leadership**
- Manage, lead and develop a team of staff to the highest level of performance, engagement and job satisfaction and actively promote a healthy, safe, diverse and environmentally sustainable workplace
- Establish and maintain a capability profile - attracting, developing and retaining high performing talent which will meet current and future needs of the team

**3) Resource Leadership**
- Monitor financial, people and project performance as appropriate.
- Lead the long-term planning for future services delivered by the Science Engagement group.

**4) Engagement and Partnerships**
- Promote **IMT’s **strategy and program activities both internally to CSIRO and related communities in the sector.

**Location**:All AU capital cities

**Salary**:AU$146,207 to AU$161,767 plus up to 15.4% superannuation

- Demonstrated ability to establish and build strong and effective business relationships to shape strategic directions within a large and complex organisation and ensure alignment between client needs and business objectives.
- Demonstrated expertise in the delivery of multiple services in a large and complex organisation.
- Demonstrated experience at being at the forefront of industry direction, including influencing and shaping solutions. Along with proven record in the planning, designing and implementing new enterprise-wide solutions including the ‘generational’ change of existing services.
- Demonstrated ability to establish and build strong and effective business relationships to shape strategic directions within a large and complex organisation _and ensure alignment between client needs and business objectives._
- Demonstrated experience leading and managing multiple teams across geographic boundaries.
- _A _successful track record in _leading and developing teams, including _ensuring future resource requirements are planned for and met_ and creating a _culture that is inclusive of staff and aligns to CSIRO values.
