About the role:
We are currently recruiting for a Head of Strategy to join AGL during an exciting time of transition, delivery and growth. You will work closely with the CFO to drive and deliver AGL’s Corporate Strategy outputs through deep collaboration across the organisation: defining overall narrative and strategic intent summary, identifying and solving cross-functional issues, and facilitating regular Strategy updates to the Board.

This strategic direction gives AGL the opportunity to further develop its broader strategy and show a clear execution plan for delivery.

What you'll be doing:
- Collaborate with the Executive Team (ET) and Enterprise Leadership Team (ELT) in creating and maintaining a Strategic narrative and ensuring that all individual strategies across AGL are consistent with the overall enterprise strategy.- Continually scan the market to identify new growth initiatives that align with AGL’s strategic direction.- Generate high impact ideas and collaborate across AGL on elaborating and building further to advance from concept to plan to outcome.- Direct the support to all AGL areas in developing strategic projects on request, including collaborating with the ET to generate the initial concept, debate the scoping, create the workplan, and lead interactions with senior stakeholders within the relevant Business Unit.- Direct the orchestration in delivering Board Strategy Days, including organising the team around multiple workstreams, collaborating to define the agenda, collecting all the input, organising all necessary interactions for syndication and review, and lead multiple workshops.- Lead the team in preparing regular updates of Strategy execution for the Board, requiring coordinating input across all AGL Business Units, quality controlling and using of critical judgement to engage in constructive conversations across the organisation.- Managing delivery of strategic projects and strategy updates according to agreed plans.- Ensuring projects are tracked and regular reports on status are provided to key stakeholders including the ET and Board.- Lead and develop a team of qualified/skilled professionals.

About you:
You will have previously worked cross functionally to help develop, define, and communicate strategy, goals, objectives, financial targets, and metrics for an organisation. In addition, you will ensure that an effective framework exists for managing and diagnosing company and business unit progress against objectives, including overseeing the financial planning, forecasting to ensure alignment of financial plan with company’s strategy.

What you'll bring to the role:
- Demonstrated experience as a strategy consultant and/or senior experience in a strategy function for a large Corporate.- Tertiary qualifications in either a financial, business, or commercial discipline.- Capable of articulating integrated vision for the future of overall economy markets where AGL operates and for AGL as a company, including analysing data and building narrative.- Generating new business ideas and developing these to business outcomes.- Constructively challenge assumptions and conventional wisdom of senior leaders, with specific, supported, reasoned proposals.- Excel in facilitating discussions to enable people to collaborate with each other independently; promotes collaboration across multiple parties and develops strong relationships across all levels of seniority.- Great interaction skills within smaller and larger groups, including capacity to articulate complex thoughts with simplicity, maintain situational awareness in any situation, and adapt to circumstances for better outcomes.- Dynamic self-starter who can manage a range of competing priorities and projects.- Is capable of conceptualising, planning and driving complex projects involving multiple stakeholders on ambiguous topics.- Develops Boar
