About the Role:
We have an exciting Permanent Full-time opportunity for a Board Administration Consultant based out of THQ in Blackburn, Victoria.

The purpose of this role is to support the robust governance framework of The Salvation Army in Australia (TSA), assisting the Australia Territory Board (the Board) to meet its governance obligations and to provide reliable, timely, high quality support and service to the Board and its relevant Committees.

Roles & Responsibilities:

- Ensure the smooth running of Board and Committee activities by supporting the Secretary to the Property Trusts to set agendas and prepare and present associated papers
- Organise Board and relevant Committee meetings ensuring that all members are fully appraised of all relevant information to support meetings and achieve key outcomes
- Attend Board and Committee meetings
- Ensure all documents relating to meeting papers and reports are distributed in a timely manner
- Maintain Board and Committee member personnel files ensuring all key information is maintained
- Assist with the processing and recording of integrity checks for Board and Committee members
- Monitor developments in relation to TSA's corporate social responsibility
- Assist with preparation of advice to the Board and Committees in relation to policy and practices and TSA's performance in meeting its strategic and operational objectives
- Support the effectiveness of the Board and Committees by following all applicable policy and procedures
- Support the Secretary to the Property Trusts to ensure compliance with all statutory filing and regulatory reporting is completed
- Assist with the review process for governance related policies including the Governance Policy and the Whistleblower Protections Policy

About You:
Qualification & Experience
- Degree in Law, Compliance Management, Accounting, Commerce or Finance; a post-secondary degree or diploma in Risk Management
- Knowledge of risk management practices and standards such as ISO 31000:2009 and other Australian Standards relevant to Risk Management
- Knowledge of the ACNC Governance Standards
- Extensive experience as part of a Governance and Risk team within a large organisation with proven performance in policy development, risk and compliance review and analysis and implementation of governance frameworks
- Experience and exposure to Advisory Boards and senior management with demonstrated experience in leadership, influencing and relationship management with key stakeholders at senior levels of organisations, government agencies and partners
- Solid working knowledge of ASIC and ACNC regulations, Australian Charity and Company Law in te.rrns of governance and Risk and the regulatory environment including familiarity with obligations imposed by Co1porations Act 2001 (Cth)

Requirements of the role:

- A National Criminal History Check is required
- Current Working with Children’s Check WWCC
- Compulsory Code of Conduct, WHS and Bullying and Harassment training modules are completed and up to date
