**The Role**
Make a difference in our community
The Coordinator Youth Development is a senior position within the City of Whittlesea Youth Development Leadership Team. It provides direct day to day support and supervision to Youth Development staff in all aspects of Council’s delivery to young people.
**About you**
If successful you will generate a wide variety of responses and identify resources, programs, opportunities and facilities for access by young people. This includes developing partnerships, links, systems and capacity for agencies, services, parents and the community. Working within a place-based model, within the Youth Development Team, this role is focused at the municipal-wide level.
You will contribute to the development of the social and physical infrastructure of the municipality to achieve the vision, goals and actions articulated in the City of Whittlesea Community Plan 2021-2025 and the YouthPlan2030+. The coordinators will also hold a specialist portfolio, which will be determined based on the needs of young people within the municipality.
About you
- Tertiary Qualifications and commensurate experience working within a leadership role in a Youth and Community Services environment
- Experience in strategic planning in a human services context and developing partnerships to achieve outcomes for young people
- Track record of creative delivery of generalist youth work. Experience within a Local Government context would be highly valued.
- Highly developed skills and experience in leading staff
- Demonstrated experience of innovative delivery of generalist youth work. Experience within a Local Government context would be highly desirable
