The Recreation Officer is responsible for planning and coordinating recreational activities for a community or organization. They will work closely with community leaders, residents, and other stakeholders to understand their needs and interests, and develop programs that promote health, wellness, and social engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop and implement recreation programs for community members, such as sports leagues, fitness classes, and social events.
- Work with community leaders, residents, and other stakeholders to understand their needs and interests and develop programs that meet their needs.
- Manage program budgets and resources to ensure that programs are delivered within budget.
- Coordinate with other departments and organizations to promote programs and events and ensure their success.
- Hire and manage program staff, including instructors, coaches, and volunteers.
- Ensure that all programs comply with applicable laws and regulations.
- Monitor program performance and make adjustments as needed to improve outcomes and participant satisfaction.
- Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and service providers to ensure that services are delivered on time and within budget.
- Develop and implement safety and risk management programs to ensure the safety of program participants.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Recreation Management, Sports Management, or related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in recreation management, with a focus on community programs.
- Strong leadership and management skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Knowledge of recreation best practices and trends.

Physical Demands: The Recreation Officer may be required to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods. They may also be required to lift or move objects weighing up to 25 pounds.

Work Environment: The Recreation Officer will work in an office environment, with occasional visits to program locations and events. They may be required to work long hours, especially during peak program periods or when events are being executed.
