**About the role**

The Analyst, Policy Design is responsible for developing support services policy, guidelines and procedures ensuring alignment to the Policy Governance Framework and providing policy design advice and support to policy owners and service design teams to ensure policy and services meet the needs of schools.

**In this role you will**:

- Develop support services policy, guidelines and procedures
- Undertake research and analysis, reviewing alternatives in relation to policy deliverables, to contribute to the policy process
- Provide a range of project management and support services, including preparation of discussion papers, briefs and submissions
- Prepare and review policy advice to ensure alignment with policy directions and end-to-end service design.
- Support owners of policies that affect the work of schools throughout the policy cycle, including conducting professional development sessions for department staff and developing materials that support best in class policy implementation.
- Communicate with key stakeholders and coordinate working groups, committee meetings, and stakeholder consultations
- Undertake research and collate information for reporting, monitoring and evaluation purposes to contribute to the achievement of policy outcomes.
- Contribute to continuous improvement across the unit including reviewing and maintaining work processes and procedures

**Skills and Experience**
- Demonstrated experience in developing evidence-based policy including the ability to work with a range of stakeholders to deliver outcomes.
- Demonstrated understanding and knowledge of customer experience in a service delivery context.

**Essential requirements of the role**
- Tertiary qualifications in business, project management and/or equivalent experience with demonstrated experience in policy analysis or policy development.

- Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department’s Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department’s Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.
