WHAT YOU WILL LEAD
- We are looking for an experienced Events Manager for an 8-month maternity leave contract to join this friendly team for a minimum of 3 days per week, up to 4 days per week leading up to major events, 1 day a week from home, 2 in Macquarie Park office.
- In this contract role, you will work with the Director of Operations on the successful end-to-end execution of a variety of event projects. You will be responsible for the effective hands-on planning and management of all events during this period, which includes in-person, virtual and/or hybrid, ensuring they are well planned and they address key topics and issues.
- Financial management - including budget maintenance and reconciliation for all events will be part of this role along with tracking and actioning speakers, sponsors and delegates’ expressions of interest enquiries on the annual conference (end October) and other upcoming events.
- Working closely with colleagues and committee members to implement project plans for the annual conference and individual events along with maintenance and delivery of the events calendar is part of this role.
- You will prepare draft marketing and communication for individual events and work with the Marketing Manager to ensure appropriate marketing and communication plans, activities, and strategies for each event are implemented.
- You will organise venues and coordinate all internal and external logistics and services to ensure events are run to the highest professional standards and offer value for money for attendees and ensure compliance with all insurance, legal, health and safety obligations are adhered too.
WHAT QUALS, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS WILL YOU NEED TO GET THE JOB?
- Strong project management and problem-solving skills.
- 5 years in events management in a similar role.
- Ability to work independently and within a team.
- Outstanding time management and attention to detail.
- Solid English verbal and written communication skills.
