About the role
- Part-time: 0.6FTE - 22.8 hours 12-month Contract with view of renewal

We are looking for a talented individual with proven experience working with Major Donors and Gifts in Will supporters within the not-for-profit/business development sectors.

As the Philanthropy Lead, you will develop and implement strategies to grow both the Major Donor and Gifts in Will programs and help to drive the profile of our organization by building and cultivating successful individual donor relationships.

This will be done by Identifying researching, qualifying, and nurturing prospective major donors and gift-in-will supporters to inspire financial support and grow donations. You will steward and develop the ongoing donor journey for these two programs.

You will bring sound communications and relationship management skills to this role and have a strong knowledge of philanthropy, fundraising, and bequest giving in Australia.

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA

Essential
- Demonstrated experience in a bequest or major gifts programs
- A strong understanding of stewardship principles as they relate to bequests and major gifts - Experience in developing and maintaining relationships with a high degree of maturity and empathy
- Confident and mature attitude with superior communication, presentation and influencing skills - Strong planning and organizational skills
- Managing successful income raising strategies
- Working to targets and implementing new strategies for the sustainability of an organisation - Proactive, tenacious, self -starter and highly self-motivated
- The ability to act autonomously as well as work as part of a team
- Experience utilising CRM database software

Desirable
- 5 years plus experience as a philanthropic lead in major gifts and Gifts in Will
- Having a Christian attitude to faith and values
- Experience working with or an understanding of CRM database software
- Tertiary degree in Sales, Marketing or Fundraising
- Membership of the Fundraising Institute of Australia
