The Mechanical Designer will be involved in a range of modelling and CAD tasks supporting design of High-Speed Weapons or parallel programs.

Based either at our Melbourne Office in the World Trade Centre or our Mitcham office on Wurundjeri land, and reporting directly to the Engineering Manager - High-Speed Weapons, your role will encompass:

- Designing and developing components and systems for solid rocket motors, components and tooling
- Conducting prototyping, troubleshooting, trials and demonstration of designs
- Creating, interpreting and analysing 3D CAD models, drawings and technical documents
- Configuration management of design artefacts
- Managing parts through production with external stakeholders
- Producing drawings to relevant standards

On day one in this role, we'll expect you to bring the following skills, experience and behaviours:

- 3+ years of industry experience in a similar role
- Experience in design and manufacturing environments
- Design & drafting experience using CREO
- Knowledge of engineering materials in relevant area
- Knowledge of GD&T, 3D CAD and PLM System
- A high level of interpersonal, organisational and communication skills
- Understanding of quality systems and procedures
- Able to interpret and analyse drawings and technical documents
- Willingness to conduct hands-on prototyping and development activities
- Ability to meet the requirements for professional membership of Engineers Australia
- Flexibility to travel
