**Eligibility**

**Division Responsibilities**
The Regulatory Practice and Support Division provides a broad range of policy and enabling
services, compliance and enforcement, and leadership in digital transformation and
modernisation for the Health Products Regulation Group. The Office of Drug Control is
contained within the division. We deliver better health and wellbeing for all Australians
through regulatory excellence and the principles of regulator best practice underpin our
work.

focused on the user experience of those we support and regulate. We take a risk-based
approach to our work, driven by data and evidence, and ensure that collaboration and
engagement are part of the division’s culture, along with delivery of well-designed
processes and effective policy advice.
**Branch Responsibilities**
The Regulatory Engagement Branch is responsible for critical corporate and business
services, gene technology and industrial chemicals policy, and regulatory oversight of the
Poison Standard. We support the delivery of regulatory excellence through:
- Regulatory education, communication, outreach, enquiry, and information
management to support a greater understanding of, and engagement with, the
regulation of therapeutic goods.
- Engagement with industry, health professionals, consumers, peak bodies and
Commonwealth, state and territory governments to enable collaboration, capacity
building, and consultation on regulation.
- Provision of strategic and policy oversight of the gene technology scheme and
industrial chemicals introduction scheme.
- Business planning and performance reporting to ensure open, transparent, and
accountable management of therapeutic goods.
- Scheduling of medicines and chemicals in the Australian Poisons Standard to protect
public health and safety.
- Developing, supporting and administering cost recovery arrangements for TGA, ODC,
AICIS and OGTR.

**Section Responsibilities**
The Regulatory Education and Communication Section develops and implements evidence
- based, targeted and effective communication and education strategies for consumers,
health professionals and industry. By focusing on the audience needs, the section works
with internal and external partners to develop content, creative and video products that are
published through multiple channels to optimise reach and engagement.
The section also manages TGA Learn - a comprehensive, self-paced learning experience
- designed to help people navigate the regulatory pathway. TGA Learn provides online
learning modules and live education sessions, as well as participation at key industry events.
Along with its communication outreach activities, the section also manages an active social
newsletters, and internal communications. The section is also responsible for overarching
brand management, ensuring the TGA’s visual style and communication products position
the TGA as authoritative, trustworthy and helpful.
