**About the Department for Correctional Services**

The Department employs approximately 2,000 staff and has responsibility for nine prisons and sixteen Community Correctional offices across the state. **Duties**

The Team Leader, Aboriginal Offender Management and Rehabilitation Services is accountable to the Manager, Aboriginal Offender Management and Rehabilitation Services for providing effective team leadership, supervision and mentoring to Aboriginal Program Officers and other branch staff responsible for coordinating the suitable placement and rehabilitation of Aboriginal prisoners and offenders by provision of cultural advice, crisis intervention and contributing to the facilitation of Aboriginal men’s cultural programs, criminogenic programs and cultural response for Aboriginal women’s intervention.. The incumbent will research, review and develop Aboriginal rehabilitation and cultural programs that meet the unique, diverse and gendered needs of Aboriginal prisoners and offenders.

**Special Conditions**
- Section 47 of the Public Sector Act 2009 applies in conjunction with other provisions of the act and other applicable industrial entitlements.
- The incumbent is required to satisfactorily complete a National Criminal History Check.
- A current South Australian Driver’s Licence is essential.
- A flexible approach to working hours is required.
- Some interstate and intrastate travel will be required which may necessitate overnight absences.

**Requirements**:
**Essential**: Nil

**Desirable**: Tertiary qualifications in Adult Education, Social Work, Human Services or Anthropology to a standard approved by the Chief Executive.
