The Department employs approximately 2,000 staff and has responsibility for nine prisons and sixteen Community Correctional offices across the state. **Duties**
The Aboriginal Rehabilitation Clinician is responsible to the Clinical Supervisor, Rehabilitation Programs Branch (RPB), for the provision of a high quality intervention service to Aboriginal adult offenders and prisoners placed in custody, on probation, supervised bail, parole, pre-parole, Home Detention or Community Service Orders. The position will also provide a high quality service to the Courts, Parole Board,Case Managers, Sentence Management Unit, Custodial staff and to the community in general, in order to assist Aboriginal offenders to adopt a non-offending lifestyle. The Aboriginal Clinician will advise on customization, development and delivery of Aboriginal specific interventions, conducting culturally appropriate assessments of offender risk and need as
well as providing cultural advice to other staff within the RPB.
The position will have a focus on the delivery of Domestic and Family Violence programs to Aboriginal Offenders (male), primarily within the custodial setting.

**Special Conditions**
- Section 47 of the Public Sector Act 2009 applies in conjunction with other provisions of the act and other applicable industrial entitlements.
- The incumbent is required to satisfactorily complete a National Criminal History Check;
- A current South Australian Driver’s Licence is essential;
- A flexible approach to working hours is required;
- Some interstate and intrastate travel will be required which may necessitate overnight absences.

**Requirements**:
**ASO5**: Nil
**PO2**: Appropriate degree level tertiary qualifications in community services, Aboriginal culture (e.g. anthropology), sociology, criminology, justice, correctional practice, social sciences, human services, health or related field.
**AHP2**: Appropriate degree or equivalent qualification which gives eligibility for full membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers.
