About the role
In conjunction with the broader Payroll team, administer, prepare and calculate payroll processing activities to ensure timely production of the payroll for the Parliament of Victoria.
**Key responsibilities**:
- Day-to-day payroll processing activities, ensuring timely and accurate data input of timesheets, leave, allowances, deductions etc.
- Reviewing and validating issues raised in the time and attendance system, adjusting manager workflows where applicable.
- Administer payroll on-costs, including superannuation contributions and payroll tax and display a sound understanding of legislative requirements to ensure ongoing compliance.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, workplace agreements, relevant legislation, and compliance requirements, prior to processing.
- Provide authoritative advice and information to stakeholders on payroll matters such as salaries, conditions of employment, annual performance based incremental adjustments, EBA increases, relevant legislation, and internal policies.
About you
You will bring a track record of success in administering payroll activities, alongside:
- Demonstrated understanding of specialist and technical payroll and time and attendance systems with mínimal supervision and evidence of timeliness and accuracy and experience and understanding in the administration of on-costs and legislative compliance requirements.
- Demonstrated experience and capabilities to function effectively in a collaborative team environment, characterised by strong values around stakeholder focus and provision of excellent customer service knowledge sharing, technical peer review and continuous improvement.
- Well-developed written, communication and interpersonal skills with an emphasis on developing and maintaining successful relationships at all levels of the organisation and providing high level confidential client services.
- High level computer literacy skills with proven ability to, undertake data analysis, and working knowledge of payroll and time and attendance systems
