**The Company**:
This venue is one of Melbourne's most elegant venues, providing sophistication and premium service to deliver events. The venue manages weddings, corporate events and conferences. With stunning rooms to run multiple events at one time, this venue has a sensational team and they are looking for a new permanent team member.
**The Role**:
The Wedding and Event Coordinator role is a permanent position and is part of a team of 2 staff that manage all the events within the various venues. This role works with clients from initial brief through to creation of their event and delivery onsite when required. Managing events from weddings, corporate conferences, meetings, gala dinners and more.
Key Responsibilities include;
- To ensure the smooth and efficient running of the conference and wedding sales office
- Ensure that all quotes are sent out the day that the enquiry is received
- Prepare banquet even orders & clients confirmations and distribute to relevant hotel outlets
- Ensure all correspondence are sent out accurately and in a timely manner
- Constantly seek new ways to improve the banquet department with empathy to a guests point of a view at all times
- To take a proactive approach to the sales of hotels facilities ensuring any opportunities for up-selling venues, catering and services to be capitalised upon
- Maximise revenues for the conference, wedding & banquet department & all hotel departments
- Liaise closely on a daily basis with the Food & Beverage Manager and Executive Chef
- Follow up on enquiries and tentative bookings converting to bookings
- Maximise revenue & profitability by managing the yield on all conferences, weddings and events
- Prepare all guests accounts correctly and ensure that all functions have completed required forms
- Develop initiatives to increase revenue
- Experience handling clients within a hospitality venue
- Experience with Weddings and Corporate Events
- Outstanding communication and negotiation skills
- Strong written skills as well with great attention to detail and follow up skills
- Excellent presentation skills
- Ability to think quickly and problem solve in a fast-paced environment
- Must be able to work both independently and collaboratively on multiple projects simultaneously with tight deadlines
- Ability to work outside of core hours when required for events
