About the role
The Communications and Engagement Branch supports LHA mission by planning, developing, and delivering a range of communications and engagement activities to LHA stakeholders. The team works closely with senior LHA staff and a range of stakeholder-facing teams to provide an integrated, organisation-wide communications and engagement service.
Reporting to the Manager Communications and Engagement, the Communications Lead coordinates and leads delivery of LHA's communications, media, digital and marketing activities.
A capable and precise written communicator with a strong understanding of strategic communications principles, the Communications Lead writes and edits content for a range of audiences and channels. This role also provides high-level advice and support to the Manager and other senior staff.
As well as directly producing content, the Communications Lead coordinates the work of a small team, managing two staff to develop high-quality outputs for stakeholder materials, media, digital and campaigns. The role also develops and contributes to a range of communications and digital plans and strategies.
This role has a flexible work location with an option of Melbourne CBD or Bendigo.

- A skilled writer capable of developing engaging content for a range of channels and audiences
- Adept at overseeing systems and processes, and managing people, to plan and deliver work in a considered, controlled and effective manner as a team
- Comfortable coordinating complex, integrated communications activities across a range of teams, suppliers, stakeholders, and channels
- Strategic thinker able to proactively identify opportunities and risks, able to raise ideas and contribute to both focused and broad plans and strategies
- Responsive, results driven and service-oriented
