An exciting and unique opportunity exists for a talented and passionate individual to join the Yoorrook Justice Commission Response and Engagement Branch as Principal Research Officer to contribute to the ground-breaking work of the First Peoples - State Relations Group in the areas of truth, treaty, self-determination and cultural rights.

The responsibilities of the Yoorrook Justice Commission Response and Engagement Branch include coordinating the whole-of-government State response to the Yoorrook Justice Commission (Commission), including engagement with government departments and agencies through the Yoorrook Interdepartmental Committee and the WoVG Working Group.

As the **Principal** **Research Officer**, **Yoorook Justice Commission Response and Engagement**, you will play a key role in supporting DPC's response to the Yoorrook Justice Commission (Commission) by leading and conducting research and analysis of key government records dating back to the beginnings of colonisation. Drafting research papers and other products to inform the State's response to the Commission and representing the Department or Government's views at meetings / forums, will also be an essential requirement of this role.

Please note, a relevant tertiary qualification in archaeology, anthropology, history, cultural heritage or equivalent experience is a desirable requirement for this role.
