**ABOUT THE BRANCH & SECTION**

The Parliamentary and Corporate Engagement Branch is an integral link to and between the Parliament, our portfolio ministers and departmental Executive, and all of Finance.

The Branch delivers advice and support to enable our ministers, the department and portfolio agencies to fulfil their responsibilities including to the Parliament. The Branch also supports and coordinates the implementation of the Enhanced Commonwealth Performance Framework through activities such as preparation of the department’s corporate plan and annual report and running of a centralised governance secretariat, as well as providing communication and stakeholder engagement support, and management of media enquiries and the Finance websites.

The Governance, Planning and Performance (GPP) section provides centralised support for Finance’s governance committees, including the Executive Board, Performance and Risk Committee, Major Projects Committee, People and Culture Committee, Audit Committee, Performance Reporting Subcommittee and Financial Reporting Subcommittee.

**ABOUT THE**
**OPPORTUNITY**

The Assistant Director, Governance, Planning and Performance will lead a small team to support the effective management and coordination of Finance’s governance committees and the delivery of Finance’s primary planning and reporting products under the
- Public Governance, Performance and Accountability Act (2013)_ (PGPA Act) and associated Rule.

The key duties and responsibilities of the role include:

- Leading a small team to:

- provide strategic coordination and secretariat support to Finance’s governance committees, (which may include Executive Board, People and Culture Committee, Performance and Risk Committee, Major Projects Committee, Audit Committee, Performance Reporting Subcommittee and Financial Reporting Subcommittee); and
- design, provide advice on, coordinate and deliver Finance’s primary planning and reporting products, (which may include the department’s Corporate Plan, Portfolio Budget Statements performance measures, Annual Report and Annual Performance Statements, Division Operating Plans, Departmental performance reporting), in accordance with the PGPA Act and PGPA Rule requirements, and with consideration of ANAO recommendations and associated resource management guides and other related frameworks.
- Drafting high quality and timely briefs and correspondence for senior executives and committees.
- Providing support, direction and guidance to junior staff to ensure the team works cohesively to deliver outcomes to a high standard.
