**About the Department of Education**

**The Role**
Reporting to the Director, the Fraud Prevention and Communications Officer is responsible for developing and implementing a fraud awareness communications plan, using various communication channels and methods, that supports staff to prevent, detect and respond to fraud.

**Duties and Responsibilities**
Responsibilities of the APS 6 Fraud Prevention and Communications Officer may include:

- Developing and implementing a fraud awareness communications plan and maintaining the department’s Fraud Centre intranet page.
- Monitoring and managing responses to the department’s fraud mailbox, fraud hotline and anonymous reporting tool Whispli, including assessing and drafting responses to fraud tip-offs.
- Providing advice and support to line areas on fraud risk assessments and fraud control strategies.
- Contributing to the development of briefs and reports to senior management and governance committees.
- Supporting the development and implementation of initiatives that supports the department to strengthen its fraud control capabilities, comply with its fraud control obligations, and implement integrity related reforms.
- Supporting the review of the department’s Fraud Control Framework, including its enterprise fraud control plan, enterprise fraud risk assessment, fraud control policies and procedures.

**Qualifications and Education**
A Diploma in Government (Fraud Control) is desirable, but not essential.
