**About the Role**
Reporting to the Head of PR & Communications, the Product Communications Manager will have a passion for the automotive industry and be well versed in automotive product attributes, market segments and the competitive set. The transition to electrification excites you and you take an active interest in news and public policy related to electrification, decarbonisation, sustainability and the environment. You will have a curious mindset and a knack for unconventional approaches to traditional communication methods. Ethics and integrity are highly regarded values.
The Product Communications Manager will not only be a key member of the local and global communication function, but also the wider Polestar Australia team. Polestar values collaboration, integrity and offers a supportive team culture. You will demonstrate great written and verbal communication, organisational skills, and be a proactive self-starter.
**What you’ll do**
There are more than 60 car brands in Australia with more on the horizon, so bringing your creative flare to stand out from the crowd is a must. You will be involved in everything from media relations and events to corporate communications, employee engagement and government relations. You certainly won’t be bored, and you’ll hone your communication experience and skills on the job.
- Research and write key external communication materials for media, partners, stakeholders and customers
- Provide detailed preparation and support to executives for media interviews, speaking engagements, and more
- Support Polestar’s partnerships by developing communication strategies to promote events and activities to key audiences
- Work in close collaboration with Head of PR & Communications to develop storytelling efforts that highlight the product, demonstrate impact, expand Polestar’s share of voice, and talk to new and diverse audiences
- Oversee content creation to help support product launches and ongoing interest in Polestar products. This includes writing briefs and working with suppliers.
- Manage the national media fleet strategy to achieve earned media coverage across a range of outlets working with Polestar’s supplier to achieve KPIs
- Assist with the planning and execution of new vehicle launches to media and other key stakeholders
- Daily interaction with various external suppliers including PR, events, fleet, transport, photographers and more.
- Drive internal communication including monthly town halls, newsletters, Parallax communication portal news etc.
- There will also be some administrative tasks such as daily monitoring of news reports looking for technical accuracy and sharing weekly highlights with the internal team, overseeing reporting of metrics and budgets to head office, and assisting with all media requests

It will require excellent stakeholder engagement skills and an ability to be flexible in your mindset and approach. Attention to detail, the ability to work to tight timelines on occasion, and a willingness to cross departmental boundaries is a given.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, including the ability to present
- Strong project management skills, including managing multiple stakeholders, consultants, and project-based teams
- Proven track record collaborating with cross-functional teams
- Detailed understanding of the media environment and common-sense approach to media engagement
- A positive and collaborative approach to tasks
- Experience working to tight timeframes and budgets
- Excellent time-management and organisational skills
- Ability to travel for business purposes
- A Bachelor’s degree preferably in communication with 6+ years’ experience, or an equivalent degree and experience in a related field
