Wonderful opportunity to work for a specialist surgeon - up to 5 days per week - your choice We are seeking an experienced Medical Secretary to cover full-time hours - offering 2 part-time roles or 1 full-time position.

Your dedication and experience will be valued as you work harmoniously and cohesively to efficiently run our client’s day-to-day surgical practice. The surgeon consults and operates mainly at Cabrini Malvern together with his public appointment at Monash Health.

As the first point of contact, your role is integral to ensure the administrative side of the practice is efficiently managed and the patients receive prompt and courteous attention.

**Days and hours**:
Monday to Friday - 9 am to 5 pm.

**Principal Responsibilities include**:

- Booking review and new patient appointments and investigations,
- Retrieving and sorting results
- Booking theatre lists
- Scanning results and referrals
- Preparing surgical accounts
- Answering telephone calls
- Overseeing the daily management of the operating and consulting lists
- Manage daily financial transactions and use Medicare online.
- Managing appointments, referrals, and theatre bookings
- Invoicing and receipting
- Use of Gentu medical software system (Happy to train)
- Surgical quotes for self-insured patients
- Consultation sessions meet and greet and surgeon support.
- Audio typing of reports

**Essential criteria**:

- Prior experience as a senior medical secretary in busy private practice
- Use of Gentu medical software (non-essential)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Great time management, ability to prioritise and be forward-thinking.
- Financial literacy, debtor reports, reconciliations
- Experience in theatre bookings
- Strong knowledge of surgical quotes/billings, private health funds, Eclipse, and Medicare
- Invoicing and receipting
- Approachable, friendly, and professional in manner and presentation
- Solid keyboard skills.
