**A bit about the role**

As a Business Events and Projects Officer within our Planning and Liveability Directorate, you will assist delivery of the objectives, projects and initiatives of Wyndham City's Economic Development Strategy and Economic Development Unit annual business plan including research projects, business development and investment attraction programs, and department publications.

You will also plan, deliver and manage budget of major annual business events including WYNnovation Festival, Business Awards and Women in Business.

**What you’ll do**
- Effectively manage the planning and delivery of the annual business events program
- Prepare, manage and report on budgets and budget forecasting to ensure delivery of events within expenditure and revenue parameters
- Proactively seek private and government sponsorship to support the sustainable delivery of events
- Provide support in the sourcing, analysis and publication of relevant economic and demographic data
- Provide customer service and administrative support in the planning and delivery of the unit’s industry engagement program
- Develop effective relationships, provide general support and advice and act as a point of contact with key stakeholders

**What you’ll bring**
- Relevant tertiary qualification (desirable)
- Demonstrated project management, budget management and basic research skills
- Well-developed verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders
- Well-developed time management and goal setting skills with the ability to set priorities, plan and organise work in an environment of conflicting and changing demand
- Demonstrated experience in the development and delivery of small and large scale business events, including securing sponsors and program partners
- Ability to work autonomously and in multi-disciplined teams in a reliable and highly professional manner
- A continuous improvement mindset with a positive, proactive, and flexible attitude
