**The Opportunity**

Council is seeking a motivated and versatile practitioner to assume the role of Place Engagement and Activation Officer. This is an exciting, ongoing, hands-on opportunity to help make a meaningful difference for the ongoing growth and prosperity of business precincts in one of Australia’s fastest growing communities.

Working within the Economic Development and Tourism team, the Place Engagement and Activation Officer will be responsible for the delivery of place-based initiatives to help support the activation, functionality and revitalisation of retail, commercial and industrial precincts across the municipality.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Implementing and delivering quality, timely and coordinated place-making and place activation initiatives as part of Council’s economic development strategy.
- Engaging and collaborating with key stakeholders and build relationships to support growth in local capacity, and offer advice and guidance on Council-led and State Government projects.
- Planning and delivering projects that activate public spaces within the City of Melton to develop safe, vibrant, and welcoming spaces that contribute to a positive experience.
- Being a champion for the revitalisation of the city centre and neighbourhood precincts and the Place Activation Program in general.

**About you**

**_ To be successful in this role you will have the following:_**
- Tertiary qualifications in planning, business, marketing or a related discipline, or lesser formal qualification with substantial experience.
- A sound knowledge and understanding of place management, stakeholder engagement, economic development, visitation patterns and urban planning principles and processes within a local government context.
- Proven ability to develop, implement and monitor place making programs and projects.
- Demonstrated skills in working collaboratively through networks and partnerships to develop and facilitate creative and innovative solutions.
- Excellent facilitation, presentation, and communication skills.
- Current valid Victorian Driver’s Licence.
